Why Everyone Isn't a Little ADHD

Link: https://psyche.media/please-stop-saying-everyone-is-a-little-add Let’s be honest there is way more apathy than empathy, and in a world with so much progress, we really shouldn’t let backwoods narrow minded beliefs. Have so much credibility in our world, here’s a quote from the attached article I’ve written on the way adhd affects my life. “For me, anyway, having ADHD is like walking one step in front of a rain cloud, two steps in front of a thunderstorm [and], three steps in front of a tornado. Forgetting things, making careless errors, being confused. … these things can create havoc! The important thing I’ve learned is to accept errors as quickly as I can, remedy the situation, issue an apology as needed…. and keep moving forward. After all, the sky is clear and the sun is shining up ahead! Having ADHD is a lot more complicated than a poor attention span, it’s more like your attention span is so great that you hear and see everything around you. To the point of focusing on th

https://psyche.media/please-stop-saying-everyone-is-a-little-add One major issue which people tend to do with Stigma, especially adhd. Is treating it as if it is nothing more than being distracted by shiny things, or an excuse for being lazy.  Considering that it is neither of those things or anything else other than a valid medical condition. Keep these simple picture in mind, and the following points regarding the person giving advice. How intelligent do they look, not very. When they give you the exact same advice regarding adhd or other mental health issues. They look just as intelligent as the guy in this meme  Does that person sound like they should be giving advice. No, just like anyone who isn't a qualified medical professional. Should not be acting as if they are an expert, on something they have absolutely no education and understanding of.  Listening to people like this is the same logic as someone saying that rolling your car window down. Is how you fix a flat ti

Psychology: Facts VS Myths Why We Should Understand the Difference

Have you ever thought about the Irrelevant opinions, that many people in today's world have towards psychology and therapeutic treatment interventions. Those myths are not only wrong, but have the potential to interfere with people who are in need of getting proper treatment. By instilling that they should not take their mental health seriously, it causes more harm than it does good Here are some of common myths regarding psychology in today's world. Additionally in the second part of the article, I'll be discussing the importance of Psychology and Therapeutic treatment methods. Especially in today's world, where they are considered to be almost irrelevant. https://psyche.media/psychology-myths-vs-facts-part-1 https://psyche.media/psychology-myths-vs-facts-part-2

Let's stamp out the power stigma has, by educating ourselves

https://psyche.media/it-s-2017-lets-stop-making-excuses-for-stigma-and-ignorance In a world where there is so much misinformation out there, let's change that and put out the proper information. The one thing I dislike about having a psychology degree and ADHD,is how people do nothing other than post or like a social media comment. Let's honestly change that, which is my whole intention for this blog. It about time we educate others. So they see irrelevant information exactly for what it is. Irrelevant information said by uneducated people So instead of shying away from the topic, read about it, starting with the article link at the top of the page.

Coping with a Toxic Family

To some people family can be the reason for their success, to others family can mean something entirely different. Coming from having a very toxic family, I know first hand exactly how damaging family members they can be. So for this post I'm going to give you a few ideas, that you can do to help you deal with those toxic people. These things can be especially detrimental for people who have a mental health issue. Recognizing the difference between what is healthy and unhealthy When people state things such as you only have one family. While continuing to treat you poorly, don't let them use any excuse for being abusive Understand that when they hold your medical condition against you. That doesn't make you a bad person, it makes them a bad person. Having emotional reactions to things is normal Create boundaries and stick to them, don't make excuses for yourself to give in to your boundaries In conclusion:  "Toxic relationships are dangerous to your heal

CheCheck my out my article regarding mental health awareness  https://psyche.media/it-s-2017-lets-stop-making-excuses-for-stigma-and-ignorance In a world where stigma is more socially acceptable than having empathy for a person who possesses a valid medical condition. We need to speak out and change that. People should not be made to feel alone or unworthy due to another person's ignorance and lack of understanding. Especially about such an important issue, such as mental health.

Adhd and the Obsolete Myths That Surround It

Msisconceptions of ADHD is something I have a fair bit of experience in dealing with. Due to having ADHD. I understand the daily frustrations that they have to unfairly endure throughout their lives.  While additionally debunking these irrelevant myths, and showing that they're based on absolutely nothing other than obsolete information and stereotypes, is something that we all should be doing. In today's world there should be absolutely no place for stigma, but the unfortunate truth is that it's everywhere. Stigma can potentially wreak havoc in that person's life, and be almost impossible to overcome.  Opinions regarding your treatment, whether it's medical, therapeutic or pharmaceutical aspects. Unless the individual you are taking advice from is educated in these areas, with a minimum 4 years of post secondary education. Please take there ignorant comments with a grain of salt, and focus on the advice and diagnosis of qualified medical professionals. What an o

What I Wish My Family Knew About Me and my Adhd

Growing up in a household that ADHD was considered a character defect, really wasn't all that fun. Especially when you try over and over again to explain how the stigma often attached to having ADHD, has such a harmful effect on you, and the only result was either getting smacked or being made to feel as if it was your fault. Even though society has come a long way in certain things, when it comes to mental health issues there really hasn't been as much change as there should be. People still have a very narrow minded and uneducated mindset, when they view mental health problems for what they really are. Which is a valid medical condition, and absolutely nothing else, it's especially important for parents and basically anyone who shapes the mind of a child who is diagnosed with a mental health issue. They can either give that person the skills they need to succeed in life, or do things and say things that cause mild to severe long term damage.  Throughout that individual

ADHD Medication the Simple Facts

As a person with ADHD and a Psychology background, one of the biggest issues in today's world is medication. Many times, people either feel medication will make their children a drug addict, or that medication fixes everything. Even though, it  has helped me tremendously and millions of others. Many people, aren't explained the realities of medication, which gives it a bad rap. Which causes people to view it in a negative context, instead of understanding the actual facts and benefits of it.  My post isn't about the science of pharmaceutical interventions, that's what your doctor is there for,. Even though,  I have a University degree in Psychology and a diploma in Human Services. My post is more about showing you the importance of understanding medication. In order to see your treatment in a more realistic manner.  Some tips to help you view your medication and how it affects you more effectively  Practice proper prescription drug adherence, in other words take yo
