When to listen and when to ignore advice

Tell me this, would you listen to someone that said I just watched this YouTube video on dental  surgery, you don't need to see the dentist. I can take out those wisdom teeth, because they only want your money. Hopefully you wouldn't, the same rule applies for mental health issues! Without the proper training and experience,  you can honestly potentially kill a person by not having the proper skills to treat and diagnose a person Unsolicited advice, does more harmful than it does good, and comes from opinions and not actual facts.

In today's world, everyone is a so called expert in health care and nutrition. Really a more exact way to say that is, everyone thinks they are an expert. I have a psychology degree and ADHD, I'm also a former 911 operator and I have a diploma in Human Services. Yet there is tons of information about myself and others that I'm not aware of. It's not that I don't have the resources to get it, it's more a fact that no one knows everything. Regardless of your educational and personal experience. Thinking that you have that knowledge when you actually do not, yet refuse to accept that.

The reason why this is harmful is pretty straightforward, or it should be pretty straightforward but isn't for some reason. When you're taking advice from a person who does not have the proper credentials, taking away from your progress. As an example, when you refuse to accept proper treatment, and decide to pray away your depression, your going to just get worse. Whether those negative opinions are from within yourself or the outside world. They all have the same negative impact. What I'm trying to say is that don't keep your mind closed, especially when dealing with mental health issues. Listen to people who are trained and have the education, qualifications and experience to back up what they are talking about. Those are the people who have your best interest at heart.

When it comes listening to other people, make sure that they have the education, experience and qualifications and don't trash talk the healthcare system. People even when they think they are coming from a good place, doesn't necessarily mean that they are coming from a good place.
In a world where there are so many self proclaimed experts, you need to be able to filter out the negative nonessential opinions do nothing other than harm, and create havoc in your life.
