Why having a Mental Health or Medical Condition Does Not Necessarily Make You An Expert

A huge misconception many people have a tendency to make, is having a mental health issue makes you equally as knowledgeable as a doctor or therapist. Here are a few basic reasons, why it doesn't make you as knowledgeable as a doctor or therapist. * Having a mental health issue can help you to understand others, but not everyone goes through stuff the same way. In other words, there's healthy and unhealthy ways to deal with things. * Does having your wisdom teeth out make you a dentist? No, it doesn't, just like having a mental health issue doesn't make you a therapist * People who simply see things from their own personal perspective, have a tendency to bases their opinions on stereotypes and biased opinions. In conclusion, most people who think they have a total understanding of something, but do not, have a very Dunning-Kruger type of understanding of the topic. Which is why they are in no way, shape or form as qualified as a qualified medical professional. Unl...

Have so much credibility in our world, here’s a quote from the attached article I’ve written on the way adhd affects my life. “For me, anyway, having ADHD is like walking one step in front of a rain cloud, two steps in front of a thunderstorm [and], three steps in front of a tornado. Forgetting things, making careless errors, being confused. … these things can create havoc! The important thing I’ve learned is to accept errors as quickly as I can, remedy the situation, issue an apology as needed…. and keep moving forward. After all, the sky is clear and the sun is shining up ahead! Having ADHD is a lot more complicated than a poor attention span, it’s more like your attention span is so great that you hear and...

Let's stamp out the power stigma has, by educating ourselves

https://psyche.media/it-s-2017-lets-stop-making-excuses-for-stigma-and-ignorance In a world where there is so much misinformation out there, let's change that and put out the proper information. The one thing I dislike about having a psychology degree and ADHD,is how people do nothing other than post or like a social media comment. Let's honestly change that, which is my whole intention for this blog. It about time we educate others. So they see irrelevant information exactly for what it is. Irrelevant information said by uneducated people So instead of shying away from the topic, read about it, starting with the article link at the top of the page.
